23-year-old sworn in as youngest and first Muslim-American St. Louis Park City Councilor
dear NEIGHBORS,
I am excited to announce that I am running for Mayor of St. Louis Park.
My family and I immigrated to St Louis Park when I was 10. I attended St. Louis Park schools and graduated from St Louis Park High. I have a bachelor’s degree in Human Resources and am working on my master’s degree in educational leadership. I ran for SLP City Council in 2019 and currently serve on the council.
I am running for mayor because I love this city. Our city is unique, forward-thinking, and engaged. St. Louis Park is often a leader in change, whether it’s in regard to housing, economic development, sustainability, and many other initiatives. We can be proud of the work we have done together. As a policymaker, advocate, and equity strategist, I will be focused on engaging the community, listening, and continuing these forward-thinking changes that benefit our community.
Together, we can explore investing in affordable home ownership, and affordable small business startups and enhance public safety. We will work to create an environment where all residents can thrive.
My campaign will be people-centered, I will listen to the voices of all our residents. I will work tirelessly to ensure that our city government continues to be transparent, accountable, and responsive to the needs of our residents. We will continue to focus on building partnerships within our community, with businesses, schools, and other stakeholders to find innovative solutions to ensure that our city remains at the forefront of progress and innovation.
I am excited to embark on this journey, and I look forward to speaking with you and earning your vote in the upcoming election.
Together, we can build a St. Louis Park that reflects our shared values and meets the needs of all of our residents.
Sincerely,
MEET NADIA
